Our respite services
In-Home Respite
Our In-Home Respite service at Supportive Steps is designed for giving parents and caregivers a break while making sure their children are safely cared for at home. We send a trained caregiver to your house who will look after your children for a scheduled period.
During this time the caregiver focuses on providing attentive supervision, engaging children in activities and providing emotional support in a familiar and comfortable environment for the children.
In-Home Respite at Supportive Steps is about supporting families by making sure their children are receiving reliable compassionate care in the comfort of their home.
Community Respite Program
We at Supportive Steps believe that every child deserves the opportunity to feel included, valued and connected to their community. This is why our Community Respite Program is designed to support children by providing safe and meaningful opportunities for exploring and enjoying activities outside the home.
Children can participate in outings which encourage social interaction, confidence building and personal growth. Through our community-based respite care at Supportive Steps we aim to help children develop friendships, discover new interests and enjoy the many programs and facilities available, throughout Edmonton and the surrounding areas.
Personal Care Services
We give children the kind of care that they really need. Our Personal Care Services are for children of all abilities. We want to make sure they are safe and comfortable. We do this by giving them the attention and support that’s just right for them.
Our caregivers are trained to help children with the things they do every day. This can include helping them get clean, get dressed and eat. We also help them move around if they need it.
We really try to understand what each child needs and what they like. This way we give children the care that’s best for them and that they will really like.
Extraordinary Childcare Services (Before and After School Care)
Are you struggling to find a daycare that fits your schedule or meets your child’s needs? At Supportive Steps we offer services and help families by taking care of their children at home.
We give parents the option to have someone watch their children before and after school in their house which is a place that is comfortable and familiar to them. Our caregivers want to make sure that parents who are busy can get some help and that their children are safe and happy.
Our Extraordinary Childcare Services (Before and After School Care) are about giving families a way to get child care that works for them.
Overnight Respite Program
We provide overnight child care in your home. This means you can get help taking care of your children at any time. Our service is for families who need someone to watch their children for a time.
Maybe you are going on a trip. Maybe you work at night. Maybe you have somewhere important to be. Maybe you need someone to watch the children. Maybe you just need a break on the weekend to relax.
Supportive Steps is here to help you with this. We will take care of your children in your home with our Overnight Respite Program.
