“We”, “us” and “Supportive Steps” mean Supportive Steps Inc., of Edmonton, Alberta.
About this website
This website gives general information about Supportive Steps and our respite care services, and lets families contact us and start an intake.
The information on this site is general. It isn’t medical, therapeutic, legal or financial advice, and it doesn’t replace advice from your child’s doctor or other professionals.
This website isn’t for emergencies. Forms and email are not monitored around the clock. If a child is in danger or needs urgent medical help, call 911.
Intake and enquiries
Submitting the intake form or the contact form:
- doesn’t create a service agreement between you and Supportive Steps;
- doesn’t guarantee a place, a start date, or a particular caregiver or schedule; and
- doesn’t confirm that your family is eligible for FSCD (Family Support for Children with Disabilities) or any other funding. Funding decisions are made by the funder, not by us.
We’ll review your intake and contact you to talk about next steps. Care begins only once we’ve both agreed to it, usually through a written service agreement. That agreement, not these website terms, sets out the terms of your child’s care.
Please make sure the information you give us is accurate and complete, and that you have the right to share it. If you’re sharing information about a child, you must be their parent or legal guardian, or have their permission.

Photos and content
The text, photos, videos, logo and other content on this site belong to Supportive Steps or are used with permission. Some photos show children in our care and are shared with their families’ consent.
You may view the site and share links to it. Please don’t copy, download, reuse or republish our content, and especially not photos or videos of children, without our written permission.
Links to other websites
Our site may link to or show content from other websites and services, such as Google Maps or Instagram. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content or how they handle your information.
Availability and accuracy
We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we can’t promise it will always be up to date, error-free or uninterrupted. Services, hours and other details can change. Please contact us to confirm anything important.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Supportive Steps isn’t liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this website or your reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under Alberta or Canadian law that can’t be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
